Code of Conduct

Gordon Skiers has put in place a code of conduct that it requires all of it's members (parents and racers) to abide to and protect the clubs open, collaborative and opportunity for all to develop within skiing and ski racing.

In light of previous experiences the club will enforce a three level policy for those it finds in breach of the code of conduct.
  • Level 1 - A verbal warning. (Held on file for one full year)
  • Level 2 - A written warning and possible exclusion from Gordon Skiers support at certain events for a period to be defined
  • Level 3 - A ban from the club including all training, race support and events that the club manages
All complaints will be reviewed by the committee with actions agreed by a majority vote. Historical events, external communications received as well as hearing from the racer/parent in question will all be considered by the committee before any decisions and actions will be taken. A notification of any Level action by the club, and reasons for doing so, will be logged with Snowsport Scotland.

The Gordon Skiers Code

  • Be positive and passionate about ski racing
  • Show respect to your coaches, teammates, competitors, lift attendants and all users and attendees at every event
  • You are representing your club and good behaviour and language is expected at all times
  • Respect your equipment and equally that of others
  • Never bully or make any other ski racer feel uncomfortable about the sport
  • Be punctual for training and races
  • Show commitment and work hard at training sessions and listen to your coach.
  • Be helpful at all times and make new members and visitors feel welcome
  • Parents let coaches, coach and never critique any decisions publically
  • Never break event/race rules in order to gain unfair advantage over competitors
A logging system of complaint will be introduced by the club which we will target to be in place before Winter 2017 and will follow the guidelines to be laid out by Snowsport Scotland, the governing body for our sport in Scotland.
